Omaxe’s subsidiary, BeTogether, will invest ₹2,700 crore to modernize six bus terminals in Uttar Pradesh under a PPP model. The project aims to enhance public transport with advanced facilities like automated ticketing, AC lounges, and commercial spaces. Expected to generate ₹4,700 crore in revenue, it integrates heritage-inspired architecture with modern infrastructure for better connectivity and passenger comfort.

UP Bus Terminals Set for ₹2,700 Crore Transformation

In a significant push to bolster public transport infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has awarded a ₹2,700 crore contract to BeTogether, a subsidiary of Omaxe Ltd, to modernize six key bus terminals across the state. The terminals, located in Ghaziabad, Lucknow (Gomti Nagar and Amausi), Prayagraj, Kaushambi, and Ayodhya, will undergo a comprehensive upgrade under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. This ambitious project is designed to enhance urban connectivity, improve passenger experience, and integrate commercial developments to create vibrant transit hubs.

The modernization initiative, announced on March 7, 2025, is expected to generate over ₹4,700 crore in revenue, with a total saleable area of 45.59 lakh square feet and a combined built-up area of 70.80 lakh square feet. Each terminal will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including automated ticketing systems, real-time digital schedule displays, air-conditioned waiting lounges, comfortable seating with charging stations, escalators, lifts, and advanced security measures. Clean, modern toilets and diverse food options will further ensure a seamless travel experience for commuters.

Beyond transport upgrades, the project incorporates significant commercial developments. The revamped terminals will include retail spaces, food courts, banquet halls, studio apartments, and office areas, alongside ample parking and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This blend of heritage-inspired architecture and contemporary infrastructure aims to transform these terminals into key transit and business hubs, strategically located near residential and commercial zones to maximize connectivity and accessibility.

Mohit Goel, Founder of BeTogether and Managing Director of Omaxe Ltd, emphasized the project’s broader impact, stating, “The modernization of these six key bus terminals in Uttar Pradesh is a critical step in improving urban connectivity and infrastructure. These projects will not only enhance public transit but also unlock new opportunities for businesses and local communities.” The initiative aligns with India’s vision of smart cities and sustainable urban development, prioritizing passenger comfort and economic growth.

BeTogether, leveraging Omaxe’s extensive experience in real estate, is committed to fostering socio-economic progress through such infrastructure projects. With 24/7 security, power backup, and maintenance services, the terminals are designed to offer a thriving ecosystem for commuters and businesses alike. The project also reflects a focus on sustainable growth, bridging infrastructure gaps in culturally significant cities like Ayodhya and Prayagraj.

While the Uttar Pradesh project marks a significant step forward, similar efforts elsewhere face challenges. For instance, in Chennai, a ₹70 crore bus termini revamp in five areas has been delayed, leaving commuters without basic amenities like shelters and restrooms, highlighting the importance of timely execution in such large-scale projects. In contrast, the UP initiative’s PPP model and substantial investment signal a robust approach to overcoming such hurdles, aiming to set a benchmark for public transport modernization in India.
